THE IMPACT OF YOUR DONATIONS
Our decades-long partnerships with Sderot, Bat Yam, and Eilat/Eilot, as well as NGOs on the ground, have enabled us to understand the unique challenges of each community, as well as Israel’s national needs.
These partnerships allowed us to move very quickly and effectively following the devastation of October 7th, so that we could save lives and make the biggest possible impact. From the very beginning, our Toronto Jewish community delivered massive aid to Israelis where the needs were greatest. You can see our full list of allocations from our Emergency Appeal for the People of Israel here.
ISRAELIS DON’T JUST NEED US TODAY. THEY NEED US IN THE MONTHS AND YEARS AHEAD.
Sderot and the Western Negev communities in the South of Israel suffered terribly during Hamas’ massacres. Surviving Israelis were forced to leave their homes and still do not know when they can return. Money raised will help our partners across Israel accommodate tens of thousands of evacuees who are in dire need of basic necessities and services. Going forward, our dollars will also help them rebuild these devastated communities.

In the wake of October 7th, 4,000 families were directly hit by devastating events and became victims of terror. That very week, Toronto alone—through the Jewish Agency’s Victims of Terror Fund—offered direct payments to 2,000 of those families to meet their needs. But the numbers have grown. Plus, the threat of terrorism continues. With your help, victims of terror will continue to get crucial financial aid in their darkest hours.

Based on reports in December 2023, 83 percent of Israeli children are living through emotional distress and 48 percent of adults are struggling with their mental health. Recovering from trauma is a long-term endeavour. After experiencing so much pain, loss, and fear, Israelis need sustainable support. Since October 7th, the Sderot Resilience Center has received an alarming 17,000 monthly calls. Your generosity will strengthen vital mental health programs and expand the center's resources.
