THE IMPACT OF YOUR DONATIONS

Our Toronto community is a special one.

Our ability to unite, rally, and support Israelis makes us one of the most Zionist cities in the Diaspora.

UJA’s decades-long relationships with Sderot, Bat Yam, and Eilat/Eilot have enabled us to understand the unique challenges of each community.

BAT YAM

BatYam

Located in suburban Tel Aviv, this city experiences high levels of poverty and serious social challenges.

SDEROT

Sderot

Just one kilometre away from the Gaza border, the ongoing security threats have left this city with inadequate educational and employment opportunities.

EILAT/EILOT

Eilat

Sitting at the southernmost tip of Israel, these communities face issues of isolation from the country’s core services.

Our partnerships with various organizations on the ground have allowed us to move quickly and effectively whenever Israelis need our community the most. When you donate to the Walk with Israel, these are just a few ways in which your dollars are making an impact:

Vital aid and long-term rehabilitative support

The American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee has been strengthening Jewish communities in 70 countries for more than 100 years. This includes aid for those experiencing vulnerability, support for Jewish youth to live proudly, and addressing social challenges around the world.

A STRONG JEWISH FUTURE

By supporting programs in Israel that empower children and young adults to thrive, while also engaging Canadians of the same ages to connect to Israel, we are ensuring that our community’s next generation will deeply connect to each other.

Yearly

Since October 7th

THOUSANDS

more Canadian youth have gone to Israel through UJA programs.

The Walk with Israel is an incredibly important part of our fundraising for Israel and its people.

With your help, we can raise money to empower Israelis to recover and thrive.

Between 2021 and 2024, the Walk with Israel raised more than $3.3 million!

The first Walk with Israel took place in May 1970 as the “Walk for Jewish Survival.” It was 35 km long and funds raised went to the UJA-Israel Special Fund.

“Knowing that tens of thousands of Torontonians stand by us, rally together with us, and show their love is truly heartwarming. We know that they will continue to stand with us as we return, rebuild, and go from strength to strength together.” — Alon Davidi, Mayor of Sderot
